words about words

I seem to be obsessed with writing words about words, which seems a bit silly - kind of like a dog chasing its own tail. Here's the thing about obsessions: they can't readily be explained.  All I can tell you is that sitting down to write, and letting whatever words show up have their space is fun. Even more than fun. Try it. Here are some words that showed up today.

A People of Words

Words burble
over bulbous lips,
spill and slather
over jutted chins,
run in rivulets
of orange and ochre
over sternum,
cascade down
curvaceous thighs
onto fat toes,
pooling into
puddles of thought
to splash and to
rush across grass,
across county,
across country.

Let it here be
recorded that
we are a
people of words
and we will
not be quieted.
